This week was off to a solid start with our Math Inquiry into the world of Olympic Sports! Students were able to look closely at where numbers fit within several different events. Countries were chosen as the races unfolded... Men's Curling, Women's Hockey, Women's Snowboarding, etc were just some of the events students learned about. Most groups worked through two of the six tasks and next week they will continue. Groups were also mixed for this project and students from 4.3 & 4.1 are working together and students from 4.2 & 4.4 are mixed together.
Speaking of mixing it up... We also started rolling out the Energy Diet Challenge this week and grade fours are working with the grade 7's on a project that helps conserve energy. It is a national challenge and schools will be competing for some great prizes - including $10,000! Take a look at the link below to see some of the tasks that are involved:
