This was a busy week in Humanities. We introduced the main focus for our Social Studies inquiry: Alberta’s diverse landscape and rich natural resources are integral to the lifestyle of Albertans. We spent some time “unpacking” this concept by defining vocabulary and writing the idea in our own words. We also brainstormed questions about Alberta’s natural environment and posted them on the board. We shared photos of ourselves enjoying Alberta’s natural landscape and plotted them on the class map. Then, we took a closer look at Alberta’s natural regions through the site, Zooming In Alberta.
Work has also continued in Reader’s and Writer’s workshops.

Edmodo Support
We wanted to draw your attention to a very useful feature of Edmodo. They have a support page where they address commonly asked questions and issues. They even have a section specifically for parents. The support page can be found at this site:

Catching Up:
We are asking students to take home their iPads over the break to catch up on any unfinished assignments and to spend some time getting familiar with different apps and features of the device.
Have a wonderful fall break!
