Math and Olympics
Our Math & Olympics project has come to a close. Students should have their projects submitted to Edmodo. We started our week on Monday by watching the closing ceremonies as we worked. The students are proud Canadians knowing that their country placed third overall in the medal count in SOCHI with a total of 25 medals. It is impressive to see the high levels of engagement throughout the past few weeks as the students work through the Olympics Project. Ask your son or daughter what they have learned about how numbers play a role in sports!
Introduction to Multiplication
This week we started our multiplication unit developed by Ms. Klem our student teacher. We are thrilled with the depth of understanding the students already have. The students were asked 'What is 12?' and the responses were amazing. They showed diverse knowledge and great use of mathematical terminology. Look below to see one of the mind maps that a class created all about the number twelve.

The Grade 4's have shown great enthusiasm for their elective classes this term. It is sad to report that the present ones will be drawing to a close next week. BUT!!!!! That also means the students will begin a new adventure the following week. You will all receive information and instructions on what Electives will be offered for term 3 and how to sign up. We will also post these on Edmodo.
