Simple Machines in a toy - "Huh?" Grade Four students have been given the task of creating/designing toys! Engineers and designers have started to create their projects and the sketches are proving to be quite unique! The main catch being that all resources/supplies need to be from recycled materials (or previously used). So hunt through the garage, used toys, and clothing as many of these items can be used to create your son or daughters 'new' toy. SUPPLIES WILL NEED TO BE AT SCHOOL BY MONDAY FOR THE BUILD!
We have included what we are looking for below! Watch Edmodo to see their progress!
Editor's Note: This is an assignment showing what your son or daughter knows. Please help guide them only (if necessary)! We are encouraging an independent project :)
The year started off with a ka-POW! Yes that's right… they have a POW. Due dates remain the same and will be going out & coming in on Wednesdays. We will be continuing our work on borrowing and carrying.
Our next unit will focus on multiplication and we are asking that if you are currently reviewing that at home with the use of any timed testing or flash cards that you stop for a bit. The way we are going to look at this topic focusing in understanding the 'why' and 'how' behind, not memorizing. We will send you some more information as we get closer to multiplying.
Thanks for your continued support!
